Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk for our Welcome Center and Shipping Office in Kentucky. You will verify and process shipments, manage schedules, and coordinate dock activities while ensuring accurate documentation and strong customer service.

The role supports logistics operations by maintaining inventory integrity, communicating with drivers and warehouse teams, and upholding safety and compliance across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years relevant experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic math, reading, and record-keeping skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Greet and sign drivers in and out of the facility, ensuring paperwork is verified and completed.
• Assign dock doors to inbound and outbound loads, coordinating with yard spotters and warehouse teams.
• Process Bills of Lading and all shipping/receiving documents, maintaining records.
• Maintain real-time door and yard reports for trailer inventory.
• Maintain inbound/outbound shipment schedules using warehouse management systems.
• Coordinate yard movements and dock assignments to optimize flow.
• Communicate shipment issues or scheduling changes to management, drivers, and teams.
• Report errors or issues to leadership to ensure compliance.
