Job summary

Spring Valley, a leading fertilizer and ice melter manufacturer, seeks a Raw Material Unloader at its Hatfield, MA plant. You will unload railcars, record weights and quantities, and follow SOPs to ensure accuracy and safety in daily operations.

The role offers cross-training opportunities in production, paid holidays and PTO, health/dental/vision insurance after 30 days, and a 401(k) plan with company match.

Qualifications

• Must follow safety programs and maintain accurate records.
• Excellent attendance and reliability required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with forklift operation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unload railcars safely and promptly.
• Maintain unloading records including weights and quantities.
• Follow SOPs for samples and sieve tests prior to unloading.
• Perform general maintenance of unloading system.
• Operate front end loaders and forklifts per safety policies.
• Move railcars safely within the plant.
• Visually inspect railcars and enforce safety protocols.

Spring Valley began on a small family farm in Jackson, WI in 1961 and has grown into a leading manufacturer of fertilizers and ice melter products. From our 8 blending locations and multiple shipping locations, we serve a wide variety of customer markets including distributors, co-ops, and retailers throughout the United States and internationally. Spring Valley became a part of the Interoceanic (IOC) family of companies in 2022. Our company continues to grow and expand, which presents many new opportunities. Our Hatfield, MA plant is eagerly seeking a Raw Material Unloader to join our team!

Responsibilities include:

• Ability to unload railcars in a safe and timely manner
• Maintain accurate and current unloading information including weights and quantities
• Follow SOP's for all record samples and sieve test taken before unloading railcar
• Complete general maintenance of unloading system
• Ability to operate powered industrial equipment such as front end loaders and forklifts in accordance with safety policies and OSHA standards
• Safely move railcars in and around plant
• Visually inspect railcars and ensure all safety protocols are followed in the unloading system

Pay & Perks:

• $20.00-$25.00+ per hour starting pay based on experience.
