Job description

Overview
Shipping & Receiving Clerk I - Lenexa, KS - Monday to Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk I is responsible for shipping and routing materials into and out of the Business Unit (BU), along with managing the appropriate documentation and data entry.

Pay Range: $18.00+ per hour

Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities
  1. Receive, inspect, verify, process, and route all materials into the facility and off-site locations, entering receipts into the Materials Management software system.
  2. Notify the Warehouse Manager of any discrepancies between materials and shipping documentation.
  3. Prepare shipments, including documentation, for outbound delivery.
  4. Manage the Returned Goods process according to SOP.
  5. Deliver stock to designated areas for departments.
  6. Store items properly and rotate stock based on receipt and expiration dates to ensure proper stock management.
  7. Report any short-dated materials (less than 30 days shelf life) to the Warehouse Manager for appropriate action.
  8. Assist in cycle counts and physical inventories.
  9. Comply with all relevant policies and procedures, including OSHA and CLIA standards.
  10. Analyze current procedures and recommend process improvements.
  11. Assist in order entry, picking, packing, and delivery of orders.
  12. Support record storage, retrieval, and mail distribution as needed.
  13. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Required Work Experience
  • High School diploma or GED with at least 6 months of materials management experience.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to operate materials handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
Knowledge
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is helpful but not required.
Skills
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to operate a computer, printer, and barcode scanner.
  • Effective team player.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a non-commercial vehicle.
Education and Certifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
  • Forklift Certification.
  • Valid driver’s license (Required).
