Whether you're checking them in at the Emergency Department or helping them navigate the registration process, you'll be providing an essential service with a smile. What You'll Be Doing:
  • Welcome Patients Like a Pro: Ensure their registration process goes smoothly and stress-free, whether for routine or emergency visits.
  • Provide Stellar Customer Service: Be the first point of contact, making patients and families feel comfortable and well-informed.
  • Support Patient Flow: Collaborate with other departments for seamless registration and patient transitions.
  • Be a Problem-Solving Rockstar: Handle questions, verify details, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Jump Between Areas: Assist across different hospital areas such as Emergency Department, Outpatient, and Inpatient Registration.
What We're Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in retail, hospitality, healthcare, or completion of UH Patient Access Rep/Patient Scheduler Apprentice Program.
  • Top-Notch Communication Skills: Clear and concise interaction with patients, families, and staff.
  • Strong Writing & Keyboarding Skills: Accurate data entry and quick processing.
  • Ability to Learn and Grow: Complete a Patient Access Representative II competency exam within one year and advance accordingly.
  • Problem Solver: Address insurance questions and patient concerns confidently.
  • Attention to Detail: Handle sensitive patient information thoroughly and accurately.
Nice to Have (But Not Required):
  • Two years of direct patient contact experience.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals, insurance, or offices.
