Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Houston, TX is seeking an entry‑level Manufacturing Helper. The role supports loading, packaging, inventory, and safety on the production floor. Forklift operation and basic computer tasks are required, with overtime and weekend work possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of related manufacturing experience.
• Good communication skills essential.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Forklift experience is a plus and forklift training will be provided.
• Crane experience is a plus and crane training may be provided.
• Able to work overtime and weekends when needed.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules in a manufacturing environment.
• Assist CPU customers and upload loading photos.
• Assist with location job orders on the production floor.
• Wrap and prep parts using crating and protective coverings to secure during transport.
• Operate forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Monitor trailer load and decide when to check actual vs max load.
• Assist with inventory counts as required.
• Support continuous improvement efforts on the line.
• Inspect work for defects according to Quality Systems.
• Suggest cost-saving ideas to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Be available for overtime as needed.
• Read and follow posted schedules.
• May take on additional tasks from the team leader.
