Job summary

80/20 is seeking a Packaging Operator to handle basic shipping tasks, including processing, packaging and palletizing shipments for customers and vendors. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 lbs, and operating packaging equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and English literacy. Prior packing experience is preferred, with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency in a busy shipping department.

Job description

The Packaging Operator is responsible for all basic level shipping tasks in the shipping department. They are responsible for processing, packaging and/or palletizing shipments to customers and vendors.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Provide support to the packaging areas by processing skid orders, full-length orders, and small package orders.
• Package small parts boxes
• Palletize or band panels and operate packaging equipment in all areas of shipping.

• Prior experience with packing products in a fast-paced environment (retail, service industry, etc.).
• Can read, write and speak English.
• Able to stand, twist, bend, stoop, kneel and lift 40 lbs. on a continuous basis for an 12-hour workday.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 or more years of experience packing and preparing products for shipment in a production/manufacturing environment or similar experience packing and preparing products in a similar work environment (retail, service industry, etc.)
