Job summary

International Paper is seeking a Shipping Fork Truck Operator in Winchester, VA, for a full-time, first-shift role (7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Mon-Fri). Pay is $20.00/hr with a $23.00/hr bump after probation.

The position involves loading/unloading, forklift operation, packing, and inventory tasks at the Winchester facility. The ideal candidate will be forklift-certified with at least two years of experience, basic computer skills, ERP familiarity, and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• OSHA forklift operator certification required.
• Minimum 2 years forklift experience.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Proficient with ERP systems and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks.
• Position forks and other lifting devices under, over, or around pallets and materials.
• Stretch wrap products as needed.
• Move stock to storage or for shipment.
• Operate forklift controls to move materials safely.
• Inventory materials on the floor and supply workers.
• Record weights on tags and production schedules.
• Maintain forklift and facility equipment; manage refuels and batteries.
• Record shipping/warehouse ticket numbers accurately.
• Complete pre-inspections and forms.
• Inspect bales and report damages or shortages.
• Sign delivery receipts when unloaded.
• Contribute to a safe and orderly work environment.
• Perform other duties as directed.

The Job You Will Perform:

• Loads and unloads trucks

• Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials.

• Stretch wraps products as needed.

• Locating and moving stock of products onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device for storage or shipment.

• Continuously moving levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.

• Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.

• Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.

• Lubricates fork truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank

• Ensures all shipping/warehouse paperwork ticket numbers are recorded accurately.

• Completes pre-inspections and fill out forms.

• Inspects bales and identifying damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.

• Receiving forklift drivers sign delivery receipts when truck is unloaded.

• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment.

• Other duties as directed

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have demonstrated the ability to perform normal duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: Skilled & certified to drive forklift. OSHA requires forklift operators to get certified to prevent unsafe driving and injuries. By ensuring their operators are certified, employers can benefit from safer workplace and more productivity, organizational skills, ability to read a tape measure, at least two (2) years previous forklift experience. Possess basic computer skills and proficient user of our ERP system. Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
