Job summary

International Paper in Plant City, FL seeks a Pull-Pack Forklift Operator to safely unload inbound shipments, pick and stage products, and maintain inventory integrity using forklift and RF scanner. The role requires at least 2 years forklift experience, strict safety adherence, and ability to work overtime, including weekends during busy periods.

Pay is $25.31/hr plus shift differential; external hires start as Utility at $22.23/hr with differential until qualified as forklift driver.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years forklift experience preferred.

• Able to use KIWI and RF scanner effectively.
• Dependable and reliable with good attendance.
• Able to interpret written, oral, or diagram schedules.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound shipments and move products to storage locations.
• Stack, store, and stage items in designated areas.
• Ensure accuracy and damage-free inbound/outbound shipments.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment with exact counts.
• Operate forklift and power equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect equipment daily and perform minor maintenance.
• Maintain clean, orderly work areas and security at the dock.
• Recordkeeping and assisting in physical inventories.
• Support managers with additional duties as assigned.

The Job You Will Perform

• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations
• Efficiently stack and store the items in the appropriate/designated areas
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage
• Report quality variances
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, pull packs or other power equipment. Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following indicated work methods
• Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the shipping dock as well as the plant. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with all IPs Safety policies and protocols at all times
• Other duties as assigned by managers and or supervisors/shift leader
• Be accountable for all of your personal load tallies

The Skills You Will Bring

• Minimum 2 years’ forklift experience preferred
• Previous forklift operating experience in an industrial manufacturing or other labor intensive work experience preferred
• Be able to read and understand loading instructions
• Be able to understand and follow all safety rules
• Be able to read and understand machine line up
• Able to understand and accurately utilize KIWI
• Able to utilize RF scanner and perform cycle counts to verify quantities
• MUST be dependable and reliable
• Able to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
