Staffmark Group is hiring a Shipping Floater in New Iberia, LA. The role supports shipping clerks, helps pull items from inventory, packs orders, and moves materials using forklifts and pallet jacks in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Looking for Shipping Floater jobs in New Iberia where accuracy and teamwork keep products moving? This opportunity lets you play a key role in receiving incoming shipments, preparing outbound orders, and helping maintain an organized, efficient warehouse operation.

Job Duties

• One floater will be assigned to each shipping clerk to assist with pulling correct items from our inventory to fulfill orders.
• Assist with product and package assembly to prepare orders for shipment.
• Pack and label products based on established standards.
• Transport all incoming/outgoing materials to designated areas by utilizing appropriate tools, including forklifts, hand dollies, and pallet jacks.
• Recognize and comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and policies.
• Keep areas clean and organized.
• Report all incidents/accidents to supervisor immediately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or logistics training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Experience receiving, storing, picking, packing, or shipping products in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to accurately complete shipping and receiving documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment following company procedures.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and inventory accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanners, or inventory software is preferred.
• Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment is beneficial.
• Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, or order fulfillment is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate dependability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are well positioned for success as a Shipping Floater.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely load, unload, and organize products in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and production conditions as required.
