Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Material Handler in Morgan City, LA. The role runs Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a pay rate of $17.75 to $20.00 per hour. You will move, load, and organize warehouse materials, maintain accurate inventory, and ensure safe, efficient operations.

The job requires lifting heavy objects, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Some oxygen to rotate on-call shifts and basic computer skills will help you succeed in this

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• Ability to participate in a rotational on-call schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials consistently
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills for warehouse systems
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift for extended periods
• Capable of working in heat, cold, rain and humidity
• Comfort with heights and near water when required

Responsibilities

• Safely load, unload, move, and store materials within the warehouse
• Pick, pack, and prepare inventory for shipment with accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies
• Verify shipments against manifests, invoices and orders
• Prepare and maintain shipping documentation and records
• Select shipping methods based on item type and delivery requirements
• Resolve shipping issues with internal teams
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment
• Transport materials to various departments using carts and bins
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is a plus
• Previous forklift or material handling equipment experience

Job duties

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
