Job summary

Unimacts is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Assistant for the 1st shift (5AM-3:30PM) to organize chaotic shipments and ensure accurate, complete documentation before loads depart. This role supports our growing solar and wind logistics, using BOX system to generate paperwork and verify part numbers.

You’ll collaborate with Logistics Leads, QA and drivers to maintain precise records and timely sign-offs, thriving in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior shipping/logistics experience preferred.
• Familiarity with BOX system or similar software preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Basic computer skills; Excel a plus.

Responsibilities

• Generate outbound shipping paperwork through the BOX system for each scheduled fulfillment.
• Track Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs) to ensure correct matching and avoid duplicates.
• Compile documents for each outbound load (bills of lading, packing lists, shipping labels).
• Verify part numbers on paperwork against physical parts before loading; resolve discrepancies.
• Route signed paperwork for approval before load departure with required sign-offs.
• Maintain organized records of signed paperwork for each shipment.
• Complete daily inventory reports tracking loads and outbound departures.
• Communicate discrepancies to Warehouse/Inventory Manager promptly.
• Ensure outbound loads leave only with complete, signed documentation.

We are in search of a dedicated 1st Shift (5AM-3:30PM) Shipping Assistant who thrives in organizing chaos into order, ensuring that every item sent out meets our stringent standards and reaches its destination as intended. This role is perfect for those who are not afraid to get their hands dirty, have a keen eye for detail, and can handle the complexities of logistics with ease and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate outbound shipping paperwork through the BOX system for each scheduled fulfillment.
• Track Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs) to confirm each is matched to the correct outbound fulfillment and to prevent duplicate ASNs or shipments.
• Compile and organize all documents required for each outbound load (e.g., bills of lading, packing lists, shipping labels) to confirm completeness before loading begins.
• Verify part numbers listed on shipping paperwork against physical parts/product as they are loaded onto the truck or trailer; identify and resolve any discrepancies before the load is released or escalated as needed.
• Compile all completed paperwork immediately following loading.
• Route completed paperwork for sign-off and obtain signatures from all required parties prior to load departure:
  • Logistics Lead
  • On-site QA Technician
  • Shipping Clerk (self)
  • Driver picking up the load
• Maintain organized, accurate records of signed paperwork for each completed outbound shipment.
• Complete daily inventory reports tracking Swage and drill outflow, as well as outbound load departures.
• Promptly communicate documentation or part-number discrepancies to the Warehouse/Inventory Manager.
• Ensure no outbound load leaves the facility without complete, accurate, fully signed paperwork.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics preferred.
• Familiarity with the BOX system or comparable warehouse/document management software preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly for part-number verification and document accuracy.
• Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and document creation/printing.
• Excel experience is a plus but not required — training will be provided.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents (bills of lading, packing lists, etc.).
• Strong communication skills to coordinate timely sign-offs with logistics, QA, and drivers.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dock/warehouse environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including time spent on the loading dock.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dock activity.
