Job summary

Express Employment Professionals in Appleton, WI is seeking a warehouse associate to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes, inspect shipments, and support loading/unloading tasks. The role requires 1–3 years of warehouse experience and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and material‑handling equipment (training provided as needed).
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in measurements, documentation, and product handling.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely with or without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate overhead cranes using appropriate cables or straps based on load requirements.
• Operate forklifts to move, load, and unload materials throughout the facility.
• Use hand and power tools for crating, securing loads, and general material handling tasks.
• Review and verify shipping papers for all inbound and outbound shipments.
• Climb ladders to access truck beds and assist with loading/unloading activities.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing products, including identifying damage, weighing rolls, and staging materials.
• Build, repair, and maintain roll crates using carpentry tools and techniques.
• Measure rolls accurately using a diameter tape and carpenter’s tape.
• Complete required paperwork and basic computer entries for shipping and receiving documentation.
• Perform general maintenance, housekeeping, painting, and other tasks as assigned by supervision.
• Follow all plant safety, environmental, and operational guidelines.
• Work independently or with minimal supervision while maintaining safe work practices.
