Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Field Engineer – Field Engineering to support Zumwalt Total Ship Activation, focusing on network refreshes and electronics integration aboard Zumwalt-class ships. The role involves removal and installation, testing, validation, and cross-functional teamwork with software and network specialists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advance degree with 3–5+ years field experience in network/electronics.
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required (Secret).
• Experience with software/network systems and hardware/software integration in lab or shipboard settings.
• Experience with Naval Communications systems and C4I systems.
• Ability to perform shipboard testing and system validation on vessels.

Responsibilities

• Remove old networks, pull cables and racks, and manage server racks.
• Install and upkeep TSCEI software aboard Zumwalt-class vessels.
• Collaborate with Software and Network Techs and Engineers to deliver integration.
• Perform equipment installation, testing, reporting, and records upkeep for upgrades.
• Provide status reports and assist with system stage tests and external vendor coordination.
