Job summary

Serco is seeking an Advanced Mechanical Assembler to support U.S. Navy shipboard installations in Norfolk, VA. You will follow blueprints to assemble electromechanical systems and perform preventive maintenance, ensuring safety and quality on complex assemblies.

The role requires shipboard experience, ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance, OSHA certification, and forklift operation. Expect shifts that may include longer hours and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Ability to access shipyards and pass a background check & drug screening.
• Ability to obtain OSHA certification and respirator qualification.
• Forklift certification and safe PPE use are required.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints, diagrams, and guidelines to fabricate and assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies.
• Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer instructions and report malfunctions.
• Work with standard concepts and procedures within the field.
• Plan and accomplish goals with limited experience and judgment.
• Work on U.S. Naval Ships and military installations with challenging conditions.
• Handle equipment with care to avoid injury and maintain safety.
