Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Pullman, WA is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to help start a new shipboard product line for Navy customers.

You will design and develop analog and digital circuits, write test plans, and lead hardware projects with mentor support across a wide engineering team. This role includes ownership and collaboration, strong documentation, and opportunities to influence safer, more reliable electric power systems while benefiting from SEL’s

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically 2+ years of experience in at least two areas listed: analog design, digital design with microprocessors or FPGAs, power supply design, PCB layout, or prototyping.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills; ability to learn new skills and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, designs, and develops conventional analog and digital circuits with design reviews for robustness.
• Develops hardware specifications and system level specs.
• Writes test plans, executes tests, and evaluates results for peer reviews.
• Maintains product documentation and project notebooks; manages hardware projects of moderate complexity.
• Mentor and direct associate engineers and technicians; coordinate with purchasing and manufacturing.
• Adheres to SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
