Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Pullman, WA is seeking a Lead Hardware Design Engineer to lead the development of robust analog and digital circuits and oversee hardware project execution.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with purchasing and manufacturing, perform design reviews, write specs and test plans, and contribute to system-level documentation and data sheets. This role requires US citizenship and hands-on prototyping experience with EMI/EMC considerations.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of combined experience in at least two of the listed areas (design, analysis, or tests).
• Experience in analog, digital, FPGA/microprocessor, and data acquisition systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and develop conventional analog and digital circuits.
• Conduct moderate to complex design reviews to demonstrate product robustness.
• Develop hardware specifications and prepare system-level specs.
• Write and analyze test plans; execute tests and evaluate results for design reviews.
• Prepare and maintain product documentation, data sheets, and notebooks.
• Provide and maintain accurate project plans; lead hardware projects of moderate complexity.
• Coordinate engineering activities with purchasing and manufacturing; mentor engineers and technicians.
