Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Pullman, WA, seeks a Hardware Engineering Technician for the R&D Automation Hardware group. You will test prototype units, troubleshoot systems, and assist with system-level compliance scans while supporting engineers and building prototypes.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree and knowledge of analog/digital electronics, test equipment, PLCs, and computer setup.

Qualifications

Job description

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeking a Hardware Engineering Technician working in our R&d Automation Hardware group. This position will include testing proto type units and boards, troubleshooting existing equipment systems and boards and System level compliance scans. It is an exciting opportunity for professionals with a passion for computer or controller hardware.

Typical day responsibilities

• Perform basic electronic hardware tests in accordance with defined engineering procedures or guidelines under the direction of engineers or more experienced technicians.
• Build engineering prototypes under the direction of an electrical engineer or experienced technician.
• Document prototype construction and maintain pertinent engineering records.

Qualifications

Pay Range Data

We anticipate filling this position as a Hardware Engineering Technician $ 32.88 - 48.60 per hour. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job and responsibility. We base our starting pay offer and title on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
