Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Pullman, WA seeks an experienced Power Systems Research Engineer to join the Government Services team and support Navy shipboard power integration and a new product line.

You will collaborate across the company, evaluate emerging technologies, and help keep electric power safe, reliable, and economical for the United States Navy. United States citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Expertise in power system design, integration, and protection.
• Experience with requirements engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering.
• Experience in simulation and timing analysis.
• Experience with drafting and Navy or marine applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on system specifications for new products.
• Help set long-term product and process strategies.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for power systems.
• Integrate protection and communication equipment into a system.
• Simulate and analyze power system designs.
• Support testing and manufacturing of electronic devices.
• Lead a team of engineers toward program goals.
