Job summary

American Cruise Lines is seeking an Excursions Director to lead shore excursions, explorations and transfers for the 2026 season onboard our ships. You will coordinate with vendors, drive guest satisfaction, and act as a brand ambassador across ports and onboard activities.

The role requires extensive guest interaction, strong public speaking, and the ability to manage complex logistics with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in hospitality, tourism, or event management preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Enthusiasm, confidence, and a can-do attitude.
• Strong public speaking skills.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. geography preferred.
• TWIC credential.

Responsibilities

• Arrange, confirm and adjust all shore excursions, explorations, adventures and transfers.
• Be well-versed in cruising region, ports of call and excursions offered.
• Accompany guests on daily excursions as company representative and brand ambassador.
• Coordinate logistics with vendors, coach companies and ground operators for timely service.
• Accommodate guest requests, including personalized arrangements.
• Socialize with guests during meals and events.
• Present detailed excursion briefings to guests at cruise start.
• Communicate excursion changes to guests confidently.
• Oversee excursion inventory and invoicing system; manage system hardware.
• Manage launch boat operations with the Mate.
• Coordinate weekly office inventory.
• Coordinate collection of arriving packages and verify with Hotel Manager & Mate.
• Purchase morning newspapers in port daily.
• Oversee display of port information collateral; refresh maps and brochures.
• Prepare folders and materials for turnaround day.
• Inform crew of daily excursion offerings.
• Represent the company at pre-cruise hotels on turnaround day.
• Meet with Cruise Director, Guest Speakers, and Entertainers to review scheduling.
• Promote onboard sales and brand loyalty program.
• Report to Home Office on cruise status, excursion counts and guest issues.
