Job summary

KBR is seeking a Shipboard Engineer (Construction) Equipment Mechanic to perform high-level preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel and gasoline-powered construction equipment aboard ships. The role includes mentoring lower-level mechanics and supporting higher-level technicians in Jacksonville, Florida, with duty assignments aboard ships in Guam, Saipan or Diego Garcia.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma, 4 years of related work, and completion of the Basic Engineer

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
4 years of directly related work experience.
Complete the Basic Engineer Program Mechanics Course, or equivalent.
Complete the Engineer Equipment Chief Course, or equivalent.
Must maintain a valid passport.
Must have valid State Drivers License.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Performs high level preventative maintenance and repairs to diesel engines and gasoline and diesel driven construction equipment such as tractors, power shovels, road machinery, air compressors, concrete mixers and other engine driven or towed construction equipment.
Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level mechanics and assists higher level mechanics.
Performs other tasks as reasonably assigned.
