Job summary

KBR is seeking a Shipboard Engineer (Construction) Equipment Mechanic for duty aboard a ship with a assignment from Blount Island, Jacksonville, FL. The role supports maintenance and logistics for USMC and US Navy equipment.

Daily tasks include high level preventative maintenance, diesel and gasoline engine repairs, and mentoring junior mechanics. Travel and security clearances may be required for this position at several duty locations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 4 years of directly related work experience.
• Complete the Basic Engineer Program Mechanics Course, or equivalent.
• Complete the Engineer Equipment Chief Course, or equivalent.
• Must maintain a valid passport.
• Must have valid State Drivers License.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
• U.S. Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performs high level preventative maintenance and repairs to diesel engines and gasoline and diesel driven construction equipment such as tractors, power shovels, road machinery, air compressors, concrete mixers and other engine driven or towed construction equipment.
• Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level mechanics and assists higher level mechanics.
• Performs other tasks as reasonably assigned.
