Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Marine Mechanic to support elevator systems on U.S. Navy ships in San Diego, CA.

This full-time role requires installing, maintaining and repairing shipboard elevator mechanical and hydraulic equipment, with travel 26-50% as needed. You will analyze operations, troubleshoot malfunctions, coordinate with customers and subcontractors, and document work packages and test results.

Qualifications

• High School education, or Trade School, or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 years of related experience.
• Must be able to obtain base access credentials.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, maintain, repair and modify shipboard elevator mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Provide technical support on elevators and doors at client sites and field locations.
• Analyze and evaluate elevator operations and performance.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose malfunctions and perform timely repairs; manage component changes.
• Apply understanding of production processes toward task completion.
• Interface with customers and manage subcontractors; provide work direction when needed.
• Develop and use technical documents including work packages and test reports.
• Schedule, report and brief customers and senior management; adapt to non-specified tasks.
