Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, seeks an Elevator Support Technician to maintain and repair shipboard elevators and related systems on U.S. Navy vessels.

Based in San Diego, CA, you will perform skilled trades, maintenance, and installation work in an industrial environment, with travel as required. This role requires high school or trade school, 6 years of related experience, ability to obtain base access and DoD security clearance, and readiness to work in demanding conditions aboard

Qualifications

• High School education or Trade School with 6 years of related experience.
• Provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
• Experience troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and testing of mechanical systems.
• Proficient in reading mechanical/hydraulic drawings and schematics.
• Experience on-site installation following safety, quality control and testing procedures.
• Able to calibrate and repair tools/equipment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain base access credentials.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Interface with customers, manage subcontractors and provide direction to others.
• Develop and use technical documents including work packages and test reports.
• Schedule, report and brief customers and senior management.
• Perform skilled trades on aircraft carrier elevators, cargo handling systems and related equipment.
• Engage in daily physical labor in industrial/shipboard environments.
