Job summary

American Cruise Lines is seeking cooks to join our shipboard culinary team for the 2026 season on America’s rivers. You will contribute to all aspects of food production for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, collaborating with the culinary team to ensure flawless service and a first-class dining experience.

Living onboard offers comfortable quarters and a challenging culinary environment with well-equipped galleys and scenic views.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of culinary experience in full-service setting (hotel, resort, restaurant).
• Experience cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Familiar with food safety standards.
• Problem solving, organizational skills, and self-motivation.
• Effective leadership and time management.
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Able to complete a criminal background check.
• TWIC credential.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Executive/Sous Chef to produce diversified meals for guests.
• Organize workload to ensure kitchen processes run efficiently.
• Produce high-quality dishes following established menu choices.
• Adhere to guests’ dietary requests.
• Maintain order and discipline in the kitchen.
• Ensure hygiene and food safety standards throughout preparation.
• Ensure meals are prepared quickly and deliciously.
• Enforce food and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers during meal services.
