Job summary

American Cruise Lines, the largest cruise line in the United States, is seeking skilled Cooks for our shipboard team for the 2026 season on America’s rivers. Cooks will join the culinary team to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner from fresh ingredients aboard our ships.

You’ll work with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to deliver first-class dining, meet dietary requests, and maintain high hygiene standards while living on board in comfortable quarters, with meals provided and shipboard

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of culinary experience in full-service resort, hotel, country club or full-service restaurant.
• Experience cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Familiar with food safety standards.
• Strong problem solving, organizational and self-motivation.
• Proven leadership with time-management skills.
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to complete a criminal background check.
• TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
• Ability to perform essential functions, with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the Executive Chef/Sous Chef to prepare diversified meals from fresh ingredients.
• Organize workload to ensure kitchen processes run efficiently.
• Produce high-quality dishes following established menus.
• Adhere to guests' dietary requests.
• Maintain order and discipline in the kitchen.
• Ensure hygiene and food safety standards at all stages of prep.
• Ensure meals are prepared quickly and deliciously.
• Communicate with coworkers during all meal services.
