Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• DoD Secret Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
• 10 years of experience in engineering, naval architecture, or a related field
• Experience with ship systems, maintenance, and modernization
• Excellent project management and communication skills
• Knowledge of Navy standards and operational requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of ship modernization projects
• Ensure modernization efforts are completed on schedule and within budget
• Provide technical guidance during the modernization process
• Ensure compliance with Navy standards and specifications
• Act as the primary point of contact between the Navy and contractors/vendors
• Facilitate communication among engineering teams, logistics personnel, and ship crews
• Monitor modernization activities for quality and safety
• Conduct inspections and evaluations of completed work
• Maintain documentation of modernization activities and ship changes
• Prepare project status reports for management and stakeholders
• Oversee cost estimates, budgets, and expenditure tracking
• Train ship crews on newly installed or modernized systems and equipment
• Provide post-modernization support and troubleshooting
