You will oversee planning, budgeting, technical guidance, and coordination with contractors, Navy personnel, and ship crews, ensuring compliance with standards and on-time delivery. The role includes training crews on new systems and providing ongoing support after modernization.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in engineering, naval architecture, or related field.
• Ship systems, maintenance, and modernization.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Navy standards and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of ship modernization projects.
• Ensure modernization efforts are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise during the modernization process.
• Ensure compliance with Navy standards and specifications.
• Act as the primary point of contact between the Navy and contractors/vendors.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among engineering teams, logistics personnel, and ship crews.
• Monitor modernization activities to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Conduct inspections and evaluations of completed work.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all modernization activities and changes.
• Prepare reports on project status, challenges, and accomplishments for higher management and stakeholders.
• Oversee the financial aspects of modernization projects, including cost estimates, budgets, and expenditure tracking.
• Provide training to ship’s crew on new systems and equipment that have been installed or modernized.
• Offer continued support and troubleshooting after modernization is complete.
