Job summary

Corning Inc. in Hickory, NC is seeking a hands-on technician to diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls issues on production equipment.

You will collaborate with maintenance and engineering to keep lines running safely and reliably. Ideal candidates will have electrical/mechanical troubleshooting experience, the ability to read schematics, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or controls technology preferred; or high school diploma with 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and pneumatic controls with proper test equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment from simple to complex.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial contact for electrical, controls, mechanical, and equipment troubleshooting for production equipment.
• Manage and troubleshoot multiple issues concurrently to drive effective resolution.
• Coordinate with maintenance and engineering to resolve issues beyond first-level troubleshooting steps.
• Monitor area performance and identify equipment and process issues for timely resolution.
• Support preventive maintenance activities and equipment upkeep.
• Communicate updates to production teams to keep processes and SOPs current.
• Promote a safe work environment and assist with housekeeping standards and safety requirements.
