Job summary

Corning Inc. in Wilmington, NC, is seeking a skilled Electrical/Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of electrical and mechanical duties in a demanding industrial setting.

The role covers installation, diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have an electrical associate degree or equivalent experience, be comfortable with rotating shifts, and pass a Fit for Duty evaluation.

Qualifications

• Must have equivalent to a 2 year Electrical Associate Degree and at least 8,000 on the job hours or > than 4 years’ experience.
• Must be willing to work rotating shift schedule.
• The successful candidate must pass a "Fit for Duty" exam designed for the I/E Job Description.

Responsibilities

• Works from schematics, prints, sketches, written and verbal instructions.
• Performs work on energized lines, circuits and connections with voltages up to 440V.
• May work with voltages up to 12,500V at distribution equipment.
• Makes hot cutovers as necessary.
• Operates a wide variety of equipment including grinders, brake, alignment devices, rigging equipment, pulling/pressing tools, drills, gauges, meters, voltmeters, scopes, micrometers, forklifts, carts, ladders, lifts.
• Provides cross training for other skilled trades.
