Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term role that prepares an employee to perform a higher-level supervisory role, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The Shift Supervisor Trainee performs work as directed to prepare for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic operations and management skills training, and learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service) and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, Shift Supervisor Trainees are eligible for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These roles support the CVS Store Management team in driving store execution and performance while building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrate deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills.
• Possess advanced communication skills.
• Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Manage and supervise store staff through assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
• Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
• Promote CVS’s customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
• Handle customer relations issues per company policy to ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Maintain customer/patient confidentiality.

Anticipated weekly hours: 20

Employment type: Part-time

Pay range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
