Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, completes training on key business aspects (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service), and learns about CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees may be considered for promotion to open supervisor positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and customer loyalty, especially when no manager is onsite, with responsibilities including leading staff and ensuring smooth operations.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff
    • Supervise store crew activities, including assigning and following up
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service culture (greeting, offering help, thanking)
    • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring positive shopping experiences
    • Maintain customer confidentiality
Qualifications
  • Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Preferred: Retail experience.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Additional Details
  • Anticipated weekly hours: 29
  • Time type: Part-time
  • Pay range: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
