Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to gain experience in store operations, management skills, and CVS/pharmacy culture. Upon successful completion, trainees are considered for promotion to supervisory roles that support store management in driving store performance and customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is present, the supervisor leads the staff, ensures store operations run smoothly, and manages opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management

• Work effectively with store management and staff
• Supervise activities of store crew through assigning, directing, and following up
• Communicate effectively with management and staff

Customer Service

• Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
• Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, help, thank)
• Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Maintain customer confidentiality

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications: Retail experience.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Anticipated weekly hours: 29

Time Type: Part time

Pay Range: $16.24 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
