Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop supervisory skills, completes basic operations and management training, and learns about key business aspects like building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for consideration for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support the store management team in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff.
    • Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
    • Promote CVS customer service culture: greet, offer help, thank customers.
    • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
    • Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Preferred: Retail experience.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Additional Details
  • Weekly Hours: 20
  • Time Type: Part-time
  • Pay Range: $16.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
