Job summary

ADM's Decatur Corn Plant in Illinois is seeking a full-time Shift Supervisor to lead daily safety, quality, and production activities during the shift. You will mentor front-line operators and coordinate with contractors and ADM colleagues to ensure proper training and resources are available.

As a union facility with a large hourly workforce, the role emphasizes safety, GMP compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in a lead/supervisor role in continuous manufacturing operations is a plus.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead and train colleagues and build teams.
• Demonstrated communication, organizational, trouble-shooting and record keeping skills.
• Ability to work a rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous plant processing and leadership experience (in a union environment is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations by hourly production colleagues to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
• Provide resources to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
• Provide training on procedures, SOPs, PPE, and policies.
• Create and assign tasks to utilize team members' experience.
• Ensure safety through training and compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Identify and address hazards and conduct GMP, safety, health and environmental inspections.
• Listen to colleague concerns and communicate improvements to all staff.
• Maintain morale and inform management of matters affecting safety and morale.
• Evaluate performance and discuss disciplinary action with superintendents/HR.
• Attend area meetings and safety meetings.
• May perform production tasks during emergencies.
• May perform similar or related duties.
