Job summary

ADM's Decatur Corn Plant seeks a Shift Supervisor to lead safety, quality and production during the shift. You will mentor front-line operators and coordinate with contractors and ADM colleagues to ensure training and resources are available for safe, efficient performance.

Qualifications

• Previous plant processing and leadership experience (in a union environment is a plus).
• High School Diploma/GED required; 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in a lead/supervisor role in continuous manufacturing operations is a plus.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead and train colleagues and build teams.
• Demonstrated communication, organizational, trouble-shooting and record keeping skills.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily operations by hourly production colleagues to meet safety, quality, housekeeping and production goals.
• Provide resources in good working order to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
• Provide training to ensure understanding of procedures, SOPs, PPE and policies.
• Create and assign tasks to utilize team members' experience and capabilities.
• Ensure safety of colleagues through training and regulatory compliance.
• Identify hazards, discuss improvements and conduct GMP, safety, health and environmental inspections.
• Listen to colleague suggestions and maintain morale; inform plant management of safety and morale issues.
• Evaluate performance and discuss disciplinary action with superintendents and HR.
• Attend operation area meetings and safety/supervisor meetings.
• May perform production duties temporarily in emergencies or employee absence.
• May perform reasonably similar or related duties as required.
