Job summary

ADM’s Decatur Corn Plant in Illinois seeks a Logistics Shift Supervisor to lead safety, quality and production on a rotating 12-hour shift. This role mentors front-line operators, coordinates daily operations, and ensures procedures are followed while maintaining equipment readiness and team morale.

The position emphasizes training, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with contractors and ADM colleagues to drive continuous improvement in a dynamic production environment.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a plant or manufacturing setting.
• Strong safety culture and GMP awareness.
• Experience training and mentoring front-line staff.
• Ability to coordinate resources and assign tasks effectively.
• Experience in a union environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations by hourly production colleagues to ensure safety, quality, and production goals.
• Provide resources to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
• Provide training on SOPs, safe work practices, PPE, and policies.
• Create and assign tasks to utilize team members' experience and capabilities.
• Ensure safety through training and regulatory compliance.
• Identify hazards and conduct GMP, safety, health and environmental inspections.
• Listen to colleague concerns and maintain morale on shift and within department.
• Communicate with plant management about matters affecting morale and safety.
• Evaluate performance and provide regular feedback to colleagues.
• Attend area safety meetings and supervisor meetings.
• May perform production duties temporarily in emergencies or absences.
• May perform reasonably similar or related duties.
