Job summary

ADM’s Decatur, IL plant seeks a 12-Hour Rotating Shift Supervisor to lead daily safety, quality, and production activities on rotating shifts. You will mentor frontline operators and coordinate with contractors and ADM colleagues to ensure proper training and resources for safe, efficient operations.

The role emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and compliance with GMP and environmental standards, with a union plant context and a strong emphasis on teamwork and communication.

Qualifications

• Previous plant processing and leadership experience (in a union environment is a plus)
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or a high school diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant work experience
• High School Diploma/GED required
• 2+ years of experience in a lead/supervisor role in continuous manufacturing operations
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
• Ability to lead and train colleagues and build teams
• Demonstrated communication, organizational, trouble-shooting and record keeping skills
• Passion for learning; willingness to learn and assume new responsibilities
• Ability to work a rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily operations performed by hourly production colleagues to ensure safety, quality and production goals.
• Provide employees with resources to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
• Provide training to ensure employees understand operational procedures, SOPs, safe work practices, PPE requirements, and policies.
• Create and assign tasks to utilize team members' experience and capabilities.
• Ensures the safety of all colleagues through training and compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations.
• Recognizes hazards and identifies improvements; conducts GMP, safety, health and environmental inspections.
• Listens to colleague suggestions and concerns about safety, environment, product quality and morale.
• Addresses employee concerns and maintains morale on shift and with department management.
• Identifies training needs and develops a training plan with Area Superintendent.
• Evaluates colleague performance and discusses disciplinary action with superintendents and HR.
• Attends operation area meetings and safety meetings; evaluates management programs.
• Analyzes safety incidents and suggests improvements within 24 hours.
• May perform production duties during emergencies or staff shortages.
• May perform reasonably similar or related duties as required
