Shift Supervisor – Manufacturing (Evenings)

Job Details

Location: Winston-Salem, Secured Facility (U.S. Citizens Only)
Shift: 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday to Friday for four weeks, then transitioning to Shift B - 4 PM - 4 AM on a 3/4 alternating schedule (Sunday-Tuesday for week 1, Sunday-Wednesday for week 2)
Pay Type: Salary non-exempt (eligible for OT)
Security Clearance: Secret Level Required

Role Overview

Are you a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment? Do you enjoy working with advanced equipment and guiding a team to success? If so, we’d love to have you join our team as a Shift Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of up to 15 employees, operate and oversee high-tech equipment, train new team members, and ensure safety and efficiency on the plant floor.
  • Collaborate with management and engineering teams to support plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Set an example and provide clear instructions, coaching, and support to your team.
  • Train employees on specialized machinery and promote cross-training across departments.
  • Operate and oversee equipment like CNC lathes, ovens, furnaces, and testing instruments.
  • Manage shift schedules and approve employee timecards.
  • Enforce safety protocols, LEAN initiatives, and 5S principles.
  • Address problems promptly to ensure smooth production.
  • Work with engineering and management to improve operations.
Work Environment & PPE

This is a hands-on role in an industrial setting. You will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles/fibers, occasional hazardous chemicals, high or precarious places, weather conditions, electrical risks, vibration, and moderate noise levels. All required PPE will be provided and must be worn at all times.

Physical Demands & Skills

This role requires physical activity and technical skills, including lifting/moving up to 50 lbs, walking, handling materials, reaching, communicating, and occasional sitting, climbing, or crawling. Good vision and the ability to read technical documents are essential.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; an Associate’s or Technical degree is a plus.
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in textile or composite manufacturing.
  • Certifications such as forklift license, hazardous material handling, and respirator certification are required.
