Job description

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned tasks to develop management skills, completes training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees become eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and enhancing customer loyalty through excellent service. In the absence of a manager, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:

1. Management
   • Work effectively with store management and staff
   • Supervise store activities by assigning and monitoring tasks
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff
2. Customer Service
   • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
   • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
   • Handle customer relations issues per company policy
   • Maintain customer/patient confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in retail
• Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed
