Job summary

Volunteers of America Greater New-York, Inc. is seeking a Shift Supervisor/Concierge to assist clients and guests, coordinate non-clinical needs, greet and secure, and oversee the client care team in a domestic violence housing program.

The role involves supervising front desk activities, ensuring safety and documentation, arranging transportation, supporting daily program activities, and responding to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least two years of relevant experience.
• Strong customer service and front desk coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise front desk staff and document activities per policy.
• Monitor building safety and perform rounds to protect clients and property.
• Oversee client participation in daily activities and provide excellent customer service.
• Arrange transportation for clients, escort to apartments, and manage linens and supplies.
• Enter new clients into the electronic records database.
• Provide emergency response including crisis management, first aid, CPR, and fire response as needed.
• Complete Incident Reports according to the Program Manual and Funder guidelines.

Position: Shift Supervisor/Concierge

The Shift Supervisor/Concierge assists clients and guests, ensuring their requests are met. They coordinate the non-clinical needs of families and guests, by greeting, managing, maintaining security, and coordinating the operations of the client care team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• The position requires a high school degree or GED with at least two years of relevant experience.

Certifications that are required upon hire in accordance with regulatory mandates:

• Fire Guard (F-02)
• Coordinator of Fire Safety & Alarms (F-80)
• CPR/First Aid

Certifications that are required within 90 days of hire – VOA will cover the cost:

• Narcan

Candidates with related experience with domestic violence preferred.

Shift Supervisor/Concierge Principal Responsibilities:

• Supervise all front desk staff activities to ensure adherence to policy and procedures. Ensures proper documentation of front desk activities.
• Monitor building safety. Make scheduled rounds of assigned areas to safeguard clients and property.
• Oversee client participation in daily program activities. Provide optimal customer service.
• Arrange and transport clients to appointments, escort clients to assigned apartments, distribute linens and supplies. Drive agency vehicles to transport clients, if assigned.
• Accept new clients in electronic records database.
• Provide emergency response including crisis management, first aid, CPR, and fire response as needed.
• Complete Incident Reports as outlined by the Program Manual and Funder guidelines.
