Job summary

BRC - Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. in New York seeks a Shift Supervisor to oversee frontline staff, manage daily shelter operations, and ensure safety, security, and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities include supervising Community Technicians and operations staff, maintaining records and incident responses, and participating in weekly leadership meetings. Requires HS diploma or GED, supervisory experience, and relevant certifications or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working in homeless shelters or similar settings preferred.
• At least one year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of addiction and recovery processes.
• Strong computer literacy and documentation skills.
• First Aid and Fire Safety certifications required (or willingness to obtain).
• CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain).

Join BRC in a leadership role that helps ensure safety, stability, and support for individuals experiencing homelessness. As a Shift Supervisor, you’ll oversee frontline staff, maintain shelter operations, and ensure policies and safety procedures are followed.

What You’ll Do

• Supervise Community Technicians and operations support staff
• Oversee daily shelter operations, ensuring safety, security, and fire safety compliance
• Ensure staff follow all agency policies, procedures, and documentation standards
• Review and maintain accurate records, reports, and clinical notes
• Respond to incidents and provide guidance to staff as needed

• Perform related duties as assigned

Schedule

• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
• Programs operate 24/7; various morning, evening, and overnight schedules available

Who We’re Looking For
