BRC - Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. in Manhattan, New York, seeks a Shift Supervisor to lead frontline staff, manage shelter operations, and enforce safety policies. This full-time role oversees daily operations, records, and incident response on a 37.5-hour schedule per week.

Ideal candidates have supervisory experience in shelters, strong admin skills, and knowledge of addiction recovery. Certifications in First Aid, Fire Safety, and CPR are required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in homeless shelters or similar settings preferred.
• At least 1 year of supervisory/lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of addiction and recovery processes.
• Strong computer literacy and documentation skills.
• First Aid and Fire Safety certifications required (or willingness to obtain).
• CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Supervise Community Technicians and operations staff.
• Oversee daily shelter operations ensuring safety, security, and fire compliance.
• Ensure staff follow agency policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Review and maintain records, reports, and clinical notes.
• Respond to incidents and provide staff guidance.
• Participate in weekly program and leadership meetings.
• Provide emergency First Aid/CPR when required.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Join BRC in a leadership role that helps ensure safety, stability, and support for individuals experiencing homelessness. As a Shift Supervisor, you’ll oversee frontline staff, maintain shelter operations, and ensure policies and safety procedures are followed.

What You’ll Do

• Supervise Community Technicians and operations support staff

• Review and maintain accurate records, reports, and clinical notes
• Respond to incidents and provide guidance to staff as needed

Schedule

• Full-time,37.5 hours per week
• Programs operate 24/7; various morning, evening, and overnight schedules available
