Job summary

Rising Ground in Bronx, NY is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead on-site staff and ensure daily routines meet quality-of-care standards for residents.

You will supervise child care workers, manage schedules, enforce safety policies, document incidents, and support the Residence Manager while maintaining a positive, trauma-informed environment for youth and families served by our agency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Associate's Degree preferred).
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Ability to drive a 12-passenger van.
• 2 years of related experience – preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Commitment to work from a strength-based, youth development, and trauma-informed perspective.
• Ability to travel to all five boroughs.
• Must pass the required TCI training and Train the Trainer certification on an annual basis.
• Must pass and maintain F07 certification

Responsibilities

• Ensure the supervision of all on-site staff and residents.
• Maintain order, safety, and security standards of the facility.
• Uphold daily living routines, schedules, and procedures through supporting child care staff.
• Mediate conflict, whether between staff or residents.
• Complete all required documentation in a timely fashion, including incident reports.
• Must be able to carry out all the duties and functions of child care staff.
• Support the Residence Manager through informal supervision and by providing staff with ongoing feedback.
• Maintains and reviews logbooks and other relevant documentation to ensure the accuracy of those who completed them.
• Ensure high standards of sanitary conditions throughout the facility, including heavy cleaning and laundry.
• Participate in the planning and execution of recreational activities along with the specialist and personal enrichment activities.
• Participate in ongoing meetings, conferences, and training programs as required.
• Communicate frequently with the Residence Manager, Director, Caseworker, and support staff regarding pertinent information about residents.
• Ensuring residents' safety attend various appointments (including school, medical, and court).
• Attend mandatory training required by ACS, OCFS, and the Agency.
• Responsible for adhering to all ACS, OCFS, and Agency regulations.
• Utilize Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) to de-escalate incidents and protect the physical safety of children and staff.
• Manage the peer group, understand the peer dynamic, promote and maintain a positive peer group culture.
• Provides documentation of supervision by maintaining a supervisory log of all staff supervised.
• Conduct and complete annual performance assessments
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Role Overview

The Shift Supervisor is accountable for ensuring that staff members adhere to the daily routines and organizational structure of the facility during their designated shifts. This role also entails upholding the agency's standards for the quality of care and service provided to the children and youth residing in the facility. The Shift Supervisor will oversee all child care workers, managing their deployment and activities, while maintaining the integrity of daily programming, routines, disciplinary measures, program structure, and overall tone.

Two Full-Time positions are available. Each 35 Hours a week. Position 1. Split Shift: Saturday 3pm-11pm; Sunday & Monday 7am- 3pm, Tuesday & Wednesday 11pm-7am (Thursday & Friday off). Position 2.11pm-7am Tuesday- Saturday (Sunday & Monday off).
