Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking a Monitor I to coordinate administrative and operational security on a shift in a residential re-entry center. You will lead staff to maintain adequate security coverage and ensure adherence to post orders and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include conducting resident counts, training new employees, reporting incidents, and maintaining logs and reports in line with facility policy. The role requires clear communication and flexibility to work on any shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must hold a current and active driver’s license.
• One year as a Monitor I or two years related experience.
• Familiar with community correctional operations, rules and supervision training.
• Ability to write legible reports in English with proper grammar.
• Ability to plan, motivate, schedule, train and respond to emergencies.
• Able to work any assigned shift and use computers/software used by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Reads, understands and complies with post orders for the assigned post.
• Ensure resident formal counts are conducted.
• Directs staff on shift; trains new employees and schedules work.
• Reports suspected unauthorized activity or absences to the Security Manager.
• Maintains daily logs, logs of entries/exits, and facility checks.
• Monitors safety practices and prepares incident reports as required.
