Job summary

Omaha Public Power District is seeking a Coordinator, Shift Security to join the Protective Services Team. This hands-on, high-visibility role serves as sergeant in charge of security across the district, coordinating with external law enforcement and supporting emergencies and critical events.

You will administer shift-level operations, lead briefings, inspect posts, and ensure readiness of equipment and personnel while maintaining thorough documentation and adherence to policy and regulatory

Qualifications

• Must qualify to obtain and maintain unescorted NERC access.
• Associate's degree or higher in criminology, security, or related fields is preferred.
• ASIS certification is a plus and demonstrates professional security expertise.

Responsibilities

• Administer shift level security operations and ensure equipment readiness.
• Lead shift briefings and communicate status to leadership.
• Inspect posts for uniform standards, equipment readiness and duty performance.
• Coordinate with Security Manager and law enforcement during escalations.
• Direct response actions during emergencies or after-hours incidents.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation per policy and regulatory standards.
