Job summary

GEO Secured Services is seeking a disciplined, experienced Correctional Officer to oversee security operations during shifts and ensure inmate safety and order at the facility. The role requires coordinating staff, monitoring equipment, and enforcing procedures to maintain secure operations.

Responsibilities include supervising meal-time routines, conducting inspections, and responding to incidents while promoting a safe, professional environment within the facility.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to write communications, documents, and policy.
• Experience coordinating security during shifts and supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all security functions during shift as assigned by management.
• Oversees feeding of inmates/detainees during meals.
• Inspects security equipment, doors, gates, fences, lighting, and related systems.
• Assists staff with unit counts and training.
• Reviews shift reports and ensures timely submission.
• Ensures officers receive training and safety instructions.
• Inspects perimeter alarms and safety postings.
• Assists with unruly inmates and investigations as needed.
• Responds to major incidents and assists detainees/inmates as required.
• Leads inmate/detainee worker supervision and safety training.
• Provides input on performance and disciplinary actions.
• Fosters positive environment and relationships among inmates and staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
