Job summary

Novo Nordisk in Durham, NC seeks a shift production leader to provide operations support and coaching within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will coordinate daily schedules, mentor operators, and ensure adherence to processes for oral finished products and related systems.

The role requires a strong background in manufacturing with Lean/Six Sigma experience, excellent communication skills, and a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with five years of manufacturing experience.
• In lieu of BS degree + five years, consider an Associate’s degree with seven years.
• In lieu of BS degree + five years, consider a high school diploma or GED with nine years.
• Experience using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and achieving sustainable improvements, preferred.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly in writing and presentations, preferred.
• Knowledge of adult learning methodologies and ability to train and coach others, preferred.
• Computer expertise in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SAP and LIMS, preferred.
• Experience planning, organizing, managing execution, checking results and revising work plans, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a process advocate, coordinating daily schedule with Work Cell Leaders and support groups, removing barriers and enabling processes to run optimally.
• Serves as coach and mentor for team members related to oral finished production, behavior, and mindset.
• Visualizing and tracking events and actions.
• Confirming operators understand and follow processes and procedures.
• Verifying solutions work and are shared across shifts.
• Executes process confirmations of SOPs and JIs used on shift and works with process teams to proactively improve quality and compliance.
• Resolves or elevates issues related to systems such as ADP, PAS-X and SAP.
• Implements process improvements.
• Observes and enforces all safety and environmental requirements.
• Manages development planning and training for operators on shift.
• Assists with maintenance task coordination on the line.
• Handles simple deviations and assists with unplanned production issues.
• Assists with sample coordination.
• Follows all safety and environmental requirements in performance of duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
