Job summary

Novo Nordisk in Durham, NC, is seeking a shift-based supervisor to lead day-to-day shopfloor activities, ensure safe and efficient operation, and maintain quality in one or more work cells. You will drive production plans, coach team members, and ensure adherence to SOPs and cGMP standards.

The role requires strong planning, mentoring, and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to daily manufacturing tasks while coordinating maintenance and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• BioWork graduate preferred.
• Minimum two years in manufacturing; pharma/FDA setting preferred.
• Qualified to perform operator activities on work cell equipment.
• Ability to read, write and understand SOPs with attention to detail.
• Experience in training and mentoring team members.
• Computer literacy is required.
• Experience with planning, organizing and meeting daily targets.

Responsibilities

• Execute production plans by leading operation and monitoring equipment, systems and processes in one or more work cells.
• Foster a productive, engaging and safe working environment.
• Set up the next team for success and coordinate maintenance activities.
• Lead the team in Event Response/RC and schedule work cell resources.
• Address safety, quality, staffing or personnel issues and escalate as needed.
• Ensure training completion and competency of team members; maintain cGMP documentation.
• Provide performance input for team members as required by the manager.
• Spend 50–75% of time performing as an operator in designated processes.
