Job summary

Sonic Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead and develop the drive-in team, ensuring top-quality product and customer service while controlling costs per shift. You will follow SOPs, train staff, and handle guest and employee concerns to maintain smooth operations and a high standard of service.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of restaurant management experience (retail okay) and strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of restaurant management experience or one year of retail management experience preferred.
• Experience running a restaurant shift without supervision.
• General restaurant or retail knowledge.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety laws and regulations.
• Basic computer, math, and reading skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving, multi-tasking, decision-making, leadership, time-management, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach, and lead drive-in employees during shift.
• Lead drive-in operations to deliver optimal guest experience.
• Manage staffing levels during shift.
• Perform opening and/or closing duties.
• Handle guest concerns during shift.
• Handle employee concerns during shift.
• Monitor costs and inventory to maximize efficiency and quality.
• Assist with drive-in records preparation and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
• Meet legal requirements at federal, state, and local levels.
• Perform station duties to meet standards (fountain, grill, drive-thru, etc.).
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness per standards.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
