Job summary

Steak ’n Shake is seeking a Shift Manager to lead daily restaurant operations with energy and accountability in Illinois. You will supervise opening/closing, motivate the team, and ensure fast, friendly service that meets brand standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, coaching, and training of new team members, with emphasis on guest satisfaction, cleanliness, and safe food handling in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ensure all brand standards are met - cleanliness, food safety, and quality
• Handle opening and closing duties, including key-holder responsibilities
• Count drawers, manage deposits, and finalize end-of-day reports
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members
• Support training and onboarding of new team members
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment built on trust and respect
• Step into any station as needed to keep operations running smoothly
